About the project "KROPAT"

The KROPAT project is the development of small power stations being capable to run on any combustible fuel, including solid bio-fuels such as pellets, firewood, agricultural and wood-processing wastes, etc.

Within the framework of the KROPAT project, the prototype of the first model VTES-1 has been developed and built. It is a compact home-class power station intended for individual users living in private houses. VTES-1 is a "household" micro-CHP, so it works as a cogeneration unit, or CHP - Combined Heat and Power. That means generating electricity and heat in parallel. The heat is using for heating house and hot water supply.

The VTES-1 prototype has been already tested wihle operating on two types of fuel: natural gas and on wood pellets. VTES-1 is a small powerblock fitted into compact steel case. The dimensions of that case are comparable to a household refrigerator. VTES-1 is intended to be installed in boiling room of private house instead of conventional heating boiler.

According to the plans for future, the KROPAT project will be expanded for designing of more powerful models of VTES for enterprises and other power-intensive consumers, as well as for development of any-fuel engines for various types of transport.

More details about VTES and the KROPAT project can be found on other pages of this web-site, which is the official site of the project.
